Synopsis

Our short film, Learning to Love is about a young mother, BIANKA (18), struggling with her identity as a young woman and a young, single mom. The 20-minute-long story takes
place on an ordinary evening at Bianka’s rundown, one-room flat in Budapest, when her stepfather, ZOLI (45) comes over to fix her broken microwave. Bianka fancies Zoli, and
spends hours in the bathroom trying to make herself look appealing, because through seducing him, she longs to experience all the things she is missing out on as a young
mother; she sees this evening as a chance to finally be eighteen and without responsibilities for a few hours.

But when the bell rings, ESZTI (1) starts throwing a fit, and after she refuses to take Bianka’s breast, the young mother feeds her some hard liquor to make her fall asleep.
Without the disturbance, she manages to seduce Zoli, but while they are having sex, blood starts leaking out of her breasts. At this moment, Bianka realizes that she has to give
up her own desires and youth for her baby, and in the end, she sends Zoli away, choosing to care for her upset child instead.
