Unspooling 19 to 27 January, the 35th edition of the Trieste Film Festival<\/a> is set to open with Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World<\/em><\/a> [+<\/strong>] by Romania\u2019s Radu Jude<\/strong>, a film confirming the talent of this highly original director who walked away with the Special Jury Prize at the most recent Locarno Film Festival. The Italian event dedicated to movies from Central and Eastern Europe and directed by Nicoletta Romeo<\/strong> will proceed with a second opening film, Green Border<\/em><\/a> [+<\/strong>], by master of European cinema, Polish director Agnieszka Holland<\/strong>, who scooped the Special Jury Prize in Venice. Meanwhile, the festival\u2019s closing film – The Zone of Interest<\/em><\/a> [+<\/strong>] by Jonathan Glazer<\/strong> – bagged the Grand Prize and Fipresci Prize at the most recent Cannes Film Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For its part, Off the Beaten\u2026 Screens, a section dedicated to stylistic solutions and innovative narration, will be presenting the debut film Cherry Juice<\/em> by Bosnia\u2019s Mersiha Husagic<\/strong>, the road movie Arthur & Diana<\/a><\/em> [+<\/strong>] – a German production and second work by Italian-French director Sara Summa<\/strong> -, the medium-length film Cactusman<\/em> by Hungary\u2019s Oliv\u00e9r Rudolf<\/strong> and Maris B653,<\/em> a short film by Friuli-born director of photography and video artist Debora Vrizzi<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oliv\u00e9r Rudolf’s short film Cactusman, with which he graduated from the Vienna Film Academy with a master’s degree in filmmaking with the FreeSzfe Association – Cactusman is produced by Szabolcs Hajdu (L\u00e1t\u00f3k\u00e9p), Genov\u00e9va Petrovits and co-produced by G\u00e1bor Osv\u00e1th (Filmfabriq), Panni Szij\u00e1rt\u00f3 (Kinomoto) and G\u00e1bor B\u00f6sz\u00f6rm\u00e9nyi (Mozinet).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
